Hi, I’m Mark Olsen, and if you’re reading this, chances are you’re just as obsessed with soap operas as I am! Born and raised in the City of Angels – Los Angeles, USA, naturally – I’ve been hooked on the drama, the romance, and the utterly unbelievable storylines since I was a kid.
My journey started like many of yours, I suspect – glued to the TV screen after school, sneaking peeks during homework (don’t tell my mom!), completely engrossed in the lives of the characters. What sets me apart, maybe, is that I turned that obsession into, well, a thing.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Theatre Arts from UCLA. Yes, that is where I spent way too much time analyzing soap opera scripts and plot structures instead of focusing on Shakespeare – no regrets!
My professional life has been a wild ride. I started out as an intern at a small entertainment blog, mostly writing recaps and reviews – think really niche. Then, I landed a gig as a production assistant on an actual daytime drama. Let’s just say I learned a lot about the behind-the-scenes chaos (and the sheer artistry!) that goes into making these shows. I even spent a couple of years working with a company that organized fan events and conventions. I saw firsthand how much these shows mean to people, and the incredible sense of community that forms around them.
But I always wanted to connect with fans on my own terms. I wanted to create a space where we could celebrate our shared love, dissect the latest twists and turns, and maybe even meet some of our favorite stars. That’s why I started this website.
My goal is simple: to bring you the most up-to-date news, insightful analysis, and exclusive content about the world of soap opera fan events. I want this to be the place where you can find information about upcoming conventions, read interviews with actors, and connect with other fans from around the world.
I believe in accuracy and transparency. I’ll always do my best to provide reliable information, and I’ll never shy away from admitting when I’m wrong. I also value your input. This is a community, and I want to hear from you! What are you interested in? What can I do to make this website even better?
Outside of soaps, I’m a huge fan of classic movies, a terrible but enthusiastic karaoke singer, and I spend way too much time trying to perfect my homemade pizza recipe.
I’m committed to providing you with the best possible resource for all things soap opera fan events. Let’s dive in together! After all, who needs reality when you have daytime drama?
